What are Cost Codes in HR Duo?

Cost codes allow you to create and assign an individual code to an employee. It can be used to organise employees into a single group, level or sub department. In the Pre-Payroll Section of Company Settings you can create your list of Cost Codes, adding a description for clarification as an option. 


A field called Cost Code will appear in the Contract Details section of the employee profile. You can add it on an individual basis or you can use default company profiles to assign it to multiple staff at once. The code will also be visible (read-only) in system details to ensure visibility to those who do not have contract details permissions.


You will also observe the cost code field as a filter in multiple reports. Note: Staff can only have one cost code, if you would like employees to have more than one code, please use groupings instead.
