How to use a HR Duo Contract Template

The HR Duo Templates tab in Contracts will contain all standard up to date HR Duo contract templates. Any custom templates created by or for your organisation will be located in the My Templates tab.

HR Duo Contract Templates will be kept up to date with current legislation and best practice so you can always have an up to date contract template available to help you create your own organisation specific contract of employment.

  1. Go to HR Content Hub > Contracts > Templates > HR Duo Templates
  2. Click ‘Create Company Template’ 
  3. Select Continue & fill in the relevant information. Ensure to accurately update the Name of the contract template.  Hit Submit.
  4. On the left hand side, you will see the Selected Sections within the contract template. This is then visible on the centre page. 
  5. Edit the sections of the contract accordingly. To edit the sections, click into the section.
    Note: It is useful to expand the "Selected Section" (left hand side) to see HR Duo notes before editing each clause appropriately. 
  6. If you need to change the colour of the text, highlight the text & click on the colour text box & click ‘Default’.
  7. You can filter the Contract Sections by name or jurisdiction on the right hand side.
  8. Remove any clauses that do not apply by unticking the Contract Sections (right hand side).
  9. Ensure there are no duplicate clauses within the contract template. If you have a duplicate section, you will be notified when saving.
  10. Select Save, name your Template. 
  11. The Contract Agreement Type will fall under Contract of Employment. 
  12. Choose the order flow.
    Note: It is recommended not to change ordering on the contract & the ‘Order By’ option should return ‘Section Order’.
  13. Select Submit.
  14. If you are happy with the contract set up, you can make the template ‘Active’. Note: Please ensure the content of the contract is suitable before activating. 
  15. You can create a contract for a new employee from this point.
