How to set up 2fa for a staff member (HR Duo Go)

Once two-factor authentication (2FA) is activated in company settings, each staff member will need to create their one-time password. Upon their next login, they will receive a prompt to set up their authenticator app.

If the staff member does not have an authenticator app one can be downloaded by following these steps:

  1. Log into HR Duo Go app with your email and password as normal.
  2. After logging in the staff member will be shown a secret key. 
  3. Switch to your Authenticator app. 
  4. Tap Add a code.
  5. Choose Enter a setup key.
  6. Input the following
    1. Provide a name for the code (e.g., "HR Duo Go").
    2. Paste the secret key you copied from the HR Duo Go app.
    3. Select the appropriate key type (usually "Time-based" is default).
  7. Tap Add.
  8. Copy the newly generated 6-digit code.
  9. Return to the HR Duo Go App and paste the copied code into the Auth Code field.
  10. Tap Submit Auth Code button.
  11. You will be logged in as normal.
