How to set up 2fa for a staff member (HR Duo Go)
Once two-factor authentication (2FA) is activated in company settings, each staff member will need to create their one-time password. Upon their next login, they will receive a prompt to set up their authenticator app.
If the staff member does not have an authenticator app one can be downloaded by following these steps:
- Open the app store on your phone.
- We recommend any of these trusted authenticator apps:
- Android: Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator
- iPhone: Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator
- Download and install your chosen authenticator app.
- Log into HR Duo Go app with your email and password as normal.
- After logging in the staff member will be shown a secret key.
- Switch to your Authenticator app.
- Tap Add a code.
- Choose Enter a setup key.
- Input the following
- Provide a name for the code (e.g., "HR Duo Go").
- Paste the secret key you copied from the HR Duo Go app.
- Select the appropriate key type (usually "Time-based" is default).
- Tap Add.
- Copy the newly generated 6-digit code.
- Return to the HR Duo Go App and paste the copied code into the Auth Code field.
- Tap Submit Auth Code button.
- You will be logged in as normal.
