How to set overtime settings
- Go to Company Settings & choose Pre-Payroll
- If your organisation gives overtime, toggle Use Overtime.
Note: Currently Overtime settings only apply to the PrePayroll Report’ - Click Add and then you will have an option to label (title) your overtime rule.
- You can assign employees to the setting by clicking on Attach Users. Then drag & drop employee names to the left hand side of the screen on the pop-up window.
- Choose the relevant Minimum hours Worked - this determines the threshold at which overtime will be earned. Hours worked before this threshold will not be classed as overtime.
- Choose one of the following dependant on your rules in place
- Min hours per day
- Min hours per week
- Min hours per month
- Contracted hours per day
- Contracted hours per week
- Contracted hours per month
- Maximum Overtime Hours - This determines the maximum amount of hours that can be worked to earn overtime. Hours worked beyond this will not be classed as overtime.
- You can note the Minimum threshold per day (minutes) - check with Kate
- Select Add Time frame & note your sub-label. Note the times that this rate pulls through to the report and then rate in question
- Type in the premium Rate, Submit and your rule is set up.
Note: You can have multiple overtime rules and can assign different staff to the relevant rules.
Example: In this case, overtime is applied once contracted hours per week are worked (this stems from the employees set up in Contract Details). Once they work over their contracted hours, they are paid at a rate of 150% if they work any extra hours between Monday 00.01 & Saturday 23.00.
