How to assign a Permissions Role to a new employee

Roles are a group of permissions that can be created within Company Settings and easily attached to employees.

Add Staff allows you to attach a Role at the point of profile creation. See point 6 below.

  1. Go to Manager > Staff
  2. Click Add Staff
  3. If the new starter is active, toggle Active Status from New Employee is Not Active to New Employee is Active
  4. Toggle Send Welcome Mail to send the new starter their login details now.
  5. Click Place Staff in Pre-Employment if you wish to send starter forms or relevant policies to the new employee.
  6. Select the correct permission role to attach to the new starter from the Staff Role (Permissions)  dropdown. 
  7. Click User Profiles to assign a default profile setting to the new starter and select the correct profile to apply.
  8. Fill out the form with details of the new staff member: first name, surname, email address, their manager, department, position, start date, contract type, and annual leave entitlement
  9. Toggle App Clock-In on if you want the employee to clock in/out on the HR Duo Go App.
  10. Press Submit once you have filled in all information
